Matthew A. Dahlgren M.D.,

Matthew A. Dahlgren M.D., a native of Milwaukee, is a cornea and external disease consultant who joined Milwaukee Eye Care Associates, in 2006. He specializes in cornea transplant surgery, cataract surgery, ocular surface reconstruction, traumatic eye injuries, and refractive surgery. He also has an interest in treating cornea infections and ocular inflammatory conditions.

Dr. Dahlgren received his Bachelor of Science degree at Valparaiso University in Indiana where he graduated summa cum laude. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and subsequently completed an internship at St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee. His residency training in Ophthalmology was at the Cullen Eye Institute at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where he also was selected as Chief resident. Afterwards, Dr. Dahlgren completed a fellowship in cornea and anterior segment surgery at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

Dr. Dahlgren is board certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Wisconsin Medical Society and Milwaukee Ophthalmology Society.

Dr. Dahlgren enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children. When time permits, he enjoys swimming, hiking and fishing.
