If you are having trouble with your reading vision please consult our practice directly. Recent developments with presbyopic and hyperopic vision correction might be options to help you avoid the hassles of reading glasses. For more information on NearVision CK please read below.
NearVision CK also known as Conductive Keratoplasty (CK) is a hyperopic vision correction procedure that uses radiofrequency (RF) waves instead of a laser to reshape the contours of your eye. Conductive Keratoplasty, or CK, involves using localized radio frequency waves to gently reshape and “firm up” the aging cornea. The radio frequency is applied in a circular pattern along the outer edges of the cornea, minimizing interference with your line of sight. This treatment shrinks collagen in the cornea, effectively changing the cornea’s shape to correct your reading vision without requiring the removal of tissue or the use of a laser. NearVision CK is an exciting option for patients with farsightedness. It is a new procedure that uses radiofrequency (RF) waves instead of a laser.
By changing the way your cornea (the clear front surface of the eye) directs light to the rest of your eye, CK effectively treats the condition known as hyperopia (commonly called farsightedness.)A normal eye focuses light on the retina (the back surface of the eye) to create an image. In a farsighted (hyperopic) eye, where vision may be better at distance than at close proximity, the curvature of the cornea is too flat. This causes the lens to focus light behind the retina, which results in blurred vision.
Because NearVision CK does not involve cutting or lasers, the procedure can be easily performed in the office using only eyedrop anesthesia. The procedure takes about three-five minutes to complete, and the result is an immediate improvement in your vision. In most cases, you can return to your normal schedule in the next day.Page Topics Include: Reading glasses solutions, farsightedness treatment options, nearvision CK, conductive keratoplasty, NearVision CK Milwaukee, reading glasses Milwaukee, eye doctors milwaukee
