Phakic Intraocular Lenses

Visian ICL, also known as the implantable contact lens technically called the implantable collamer lens produced by Staar Surgical Inc.

Patients seeking vision correction now have an exciting new option. We want you to know about the latest advances in the field of refractive surgery. We are pleased to offer the Visian™ Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL), which is ideally suited for very nearsighted people who want an alternative to glasses or contact lenses, and are not ideal candidates for Standard or Custom LASIK.

Visian ICL,Visian ICL,Visian ICL, Visian ICL,

Visian ICLThe Visian™ ICL is the latest, completely reversible refractive procedure that is intended for people with moderate to severe myopia (-3.00 to -20.00). It is a phakic intraocular lens (IOL), meaning that it does not replace the eye's natural lens. Instead, the ICL is placed between the iris and the natural lens where it works with the natural lens to correct vision. The Visian ICL is foldable, and is easily implanted through a small incision. This is less invasive, does not require sutures, and does not cause an increase in astigmatism. The Visian ICL is meant to stay in the eye indefinitely. However, if necessary, the Visian ICL can be removed or exchanged.

To date, over 85,000 procedures have been safely performed worldwide with a 99% satisfaction rate. The Visian ICL delivers high quality vision, and 98% of people see 20/40 or better without glasses.

If you would like to discuss these procedures in greater detail, please contact us at 414-272-2020. You may also conveniently access more information about the Visian™ online at www.visianinfo.com.

We are committed to providing the best refractive surgery options and excellent care to our patients. We welcome the opportunity to help you attain better vision for life.

Verisyse Lens

VerisysePatients seeking vision correction now have an exciting new option for the correction of moderate to high levels of near-sightedness. We are pleased to offer a new technology in the field of refractive surgery, the Verisyse Lens. The Verisyse lens is made of the same hard plastic material used to make intraocular lens implants to treat cataracts for over 50 years. Although the Verisyse lenses can be surgically removed, they are intended to remain in the eye permanently.

The Verisyse lens has received FDA approval for the correction of myopia of -5 to -20 diopters. It is a phakic intraocular lens (IOL), meaning that it does not replace the eye’s natural lens. Instead, the Verisyse is placed in front of the iris where it works with the natural lens to correct vision. This lens has been used with good success for a number of years in Europe under the trade name Artisan. Implantation of the Verisyse lens is an outpatient procedure that takes approximately 15 – 30 minutes.

If you would like to discuss these procedures in greater detail, please contact us at 414-272-2020. You may also conveniently access more information about the Verisyse lens online at www.visioninfocus.com.
