Peter S. Foote, MD, is the Medical Director of Milwaukee Eye Care. Dr. Foote is considered a trusted source in comprehensive eye care for thousands of patients in Southeastern Wisconsin. He specializes in cataract, LASIK, and other refractive surgeries and is considered a leader in his field, helping to pioneer the introduction of LASIK surgery in Milwaukee. Dr. Foote takes a personal approach to patient care by listening closely to meet the unique needs of each individual. Based upon a poll of local physicians he is consistently recognized as one of “Milwaukee’s Best Doctors” by Milwaukee Magazine and was named “Doctor’s Choice”.
While earning an undergraduate degree from Cornell University, Dr. Foote was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He graduated from medical school and completed his residency at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he was chief resident. After his training, he began practicing ophthalmology and founded Milwaukee Eye Care in 1983.
Dr. Foote is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is also a member of the Wisconsin Academy of Ophthalmology and an associate of Research for Prevent Blindness. For many years, he has done volunteer cataract surgery in the Caribbean, using his expertise to restore vision to medically under-served populations.
